Abstract
This work was carried out to study the effect of using different levels of fenugreek seeds powder (FSP) in growing Sasso chicks diet as natural feed additive on growth performance, carcass characteristics, digestibility of nutrients, some blood constituents and economic efficiency. A total number of 120 one day old, unsexed Sasso broiler chicks were distributed into four treatment groups. Each group contains three replicates of 10 birds, each. The 1st group was fed control diet, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th groups were fed control diet plus 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% fenugreek seeds powder, respectively. Digestibility trial was performed and blood samples were taken to estimate some biochemical parameters. Economic efficiency for using different levels of fenugreek seeds in Sasso broiler chicks diet was calculated. The obtained results indicated that inclusion 1% fenugreek seeds powder in Sasso broiler chicks diet significantly (P˂0.05 and P˂0.01) improved live body weight, body weight gain, feed conversion, digestibility of crude protein, dressing percentage, blood serum total protein and cholesterol. The highest values of economic efficiency and relative economic efficiency were recorded for birds fed diet supplemented with 1.0% fenugreek seeds powder.
