EFFECT OF PROPOLIS SUPPLEMENTIONS ON GROWTH PERFORMANCE AND PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSES IN JAPANESE QUAIL

Abstract
One hundred and twenty unsexed 7 day old Japanese quail chicks were randomly divided into among four 4 dietary treatments with 3 replicate (10 birds), assigning experimental unit to investigate the response of feeding Japanese quail chicks to propolis on growth performance, blood constituents, hormones, immunity, antioxidant, carcass characteristics and bacterial count. The first group fed a basal diet and considered as control group, while the other three groups 2nd,3rd and 4th groups were fed a basal diet supplemented with 200, 400 and 600 mg propolis/kg feed until 6 weeks age. Results showed that treated groups had significantly greater body weight, feed intake, body weight gain and improved feed conversion with increasing of propolis level.
